Barum, Uelzen, a municipality in the district of Uelzen, Lower Saxony, Germany
Larson's P-51D Mustang (AAF Ser. No. 44-13881, nose-name "Mary, Queen of Scotts") was shot down and crashed on 4 August 1944 near Uelzen, Germany.
The original station was renovated for Expo 2000 following plans by the Austrian artist and architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser.

But the county town earned pan-regional fame when Friedensreich Hundertwasser was selected to redesign the station.
Kuhlau was born on 11 September 1786 just south of Lüneburg in Uelzen district of Lower Saxony.
