On February 21, 1927 Rozhistsky was appointed rector of the Uniate parish in Kostomlotah, but soon returned to the Orthodox Church and as Orthodox priest ministered in Vilnius in the Izha village (now Vileyka Raion, in the Minsk Region).
With the permission of the Emperor Alexander II, Joseph Sokolsky several times visits Hill, where a total of 72 Uniate priest were ordained.
In 1628 Jozef Korsak founded the church of the Holy Trinity (current and ongoing) in Hlybokaye, Belarus and in 1638 the monastery of the Uniate Basilian Order and in 1639 the church and convent of the Order of Discalced Carmelites in the same city.
These are the Greek Orthodox, Roman Catholic (Latin rite), Armenian Apostolic, Armenian Catholic, Syrian Catholic, Chaldean (Uniate), Melkite Greek Catholic, Maronite and Syrian Orthodox churches.
Since the 18th century there has existed a relatively small (uniate) Ethiopian Catholic Church in full communion with Rome, with adherents making up less than 1% of the total population.
Because they did not recognize the authority of the Latin Patriarchs following the Council of Florence, the group of churchmen opposing the Council and its Union called themselves the Synaxis.
