University of Alaska Anchorage

Nestled among an extensive green belt, close to scenic Goose Lake Park, UAA has been recognized each of the past three years as a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation.

Included with UAA for administrative purposes are four satellite campuses: Matanuska-Susitna College, Kenai Peninsula College, Kodiak College, and Prince William Sound Community College.


Maynard L. Taylor, Jr.

He was employed by the Civil Aviation Administration and the Alaska Railroad, and taught at the newly founded Anchorage Community College, the predecessor to the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Soldotna Sports Center

Usually billed as "The Showdown in So-Town," The University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves Division I men's hockey team have played a pair of recent exhibition contests in front of SRO crowds at the Sports Center – once in 2004 against Grant MacEwan College (where UAA won 5-1), and again in 2006 against the University of Western Ontario (where UWO won 3-1).
