Lawrence J. Madden, S.J., who held a doctorate in liturgical studies from the University of Trier, Germany, was selected to head up this new project.

Guido Rings

After the completion of first degrees in Spanish, German and History (1st Staatsexamen) and PGCE equivalents in these subject areas (2nd Staatsexamen), Guido Rings received his PhD in Spanish Philology and his postdoctoral degree (Habilitation) from the University of Trier in 1996 and 2005.

Jean Paul Lehners

Between 1976 and 1994, Lehners was lecturing at the University of Trier on themes such as quantitative methods in history, historical demograpy, history of family structures, analysis of school manuals, fear & security in 16th-20th century, history of European expansions by texts and controversy on numbers in history between 1976 and 1994.
