She begun collegiate studies at the University of the Philippines Cebu College, majoring in Hotel and Restaurant Management, and eventually earned her B.A. in Mass Communications, Cum Laude, at the University of San Jose-Recoletos.
It occupies a 12-hectare site which was donated by the Cebu Provincial Government in 1929, however, a fraction of the land is occupied by informal settlers.
