One of the most important defenses in the medieval bannate/duchy of Usora, this large stone structure was built in the early 13th century on the site of an earlier, clay and wood-based structure from the 10th or 11th century.
Horvat's ally was Elizabeth's first cousin, King Tvrtko I of Bosnia, who appointed him and his brothers governors of Usora.
At the same time, the son of former Bosnia's Ban Stjepan, Prince Sibislav of Usora began to intrude on Ninoslav's territory with his forces, trying to return the title of Ban to the House of Kulinić.
King Tvrtko I of Bosnia, Elizabeth's first cousin, was an ally of the Horvats, and made them governors of Usora.
He retired to his son, Sibislav, who ruled as Prince of Usora.
It is bordered with the river Usora to the north and hills to the south, with straits at the Škrebin Kamen hill (literally: Škreba’s Rock) to the west and another one to the Kalošević village to the east.
It is located abt 4 km to the north from Teslić, on the left side of the Usora river.
