Andrew Alfons Engman was born November 21, 1911 on the border of Finland and Sweden, (Vaasa).
When he was 18 - or 20 according to some sources - he turned up in Vaasa without a dime.
From the southern end of Holmsund a ferry service runs to the Finnish port of Vaasa.
