Mar Augustine Kandathil (b. at Chempu, near Vaikom, in Kottayam, Kingdom of Travancore, 25 August 1874; d. at Ernakulam, Travancore-Cochin, India, 10 January 1956) was the first and longest serving Metropolitan and Head of the Syro-Malabar Church, the principal Church of the Saint Thomas Christians in India.
Warrier worked in FACT Kathakali School for 18 years along with late masters such as Vaikom Karunakaran Nair, Kalamandalam Kesavan (chenda), Kalamandalam Sankaran Embranthiri and Kalamandalam Hyderali (Kathakali music).
Colonel Munro established five zilla (District) courts in A.D 1811 at Padmanabhapuram, Thiruvananthapuram, Mavelikkara, Vaikom and Aluva.
He was born on 28 October 1939 in Vadayar village, Bhoothapuyam Amsham of Thalayolaparambu Panchayath, Vaikom in Kottayam district, in an ordinary family to Padmanabhan Nair and Karthyayani Amma.
