Khazei is married to Vanessa Kirsch, a social entrepreneur and graduate of Tufts University who has established several philanthropic organizations, most recently New Profit Inc., a group that provides grants to innovative social projects.
In 1992, Kirsch and Katrina Browne founded Public Allies, a program that links youth volunteers with nonprofit organizations in their communities.
