In 1429, Robert De Baudricourt's only title was captain of the royal garrison at Vaucouleurs.
He appears in the video game Jeanne D'Arc, where he is one of the two characters who joins at Neufchâteau, upon orders of the commander of Vaucouleurs.
Maurice himself held the post until September 1273, when he was succeeded by Sir Geoffrey de Geneville, Seigneur de Vaucouleurs.
It was on the very day of the Battle of the Herrings that a young French peasant girl, Joan of Arc, was meeting with Robert de Baudricourt, the Dauphinois captain of Vaucouleurs, trying to explain to the sceptical captain her divinely-ordained mission to rescue the Dauphin Charles and deliver him to his royal coronation at Rheims.
