The name "kyselo" (but not the taste of soup itself, which is strictly regional) is well known in the whole Czech Republic because of Večerníček children's television series Krkonošské pohádky (Fairy Tales from Krkonoše), in which Anče, one of the main characters, cooks kyselo in almost all of the episodes.
He primarily wrote fairy tales for children, and some of his works have been adapted on the Czech children's television program Večerníček.

In collaboration with illustrator Radek Pilař and voice actors Karel Höger, Vlastimil Brodský, Jiřina Bohdalová and Jiří Hrzán he created some of the most popular cycles of the television programme Večerníček.
Asteroid 33377 Večerníček, discovered by Petr Pravec at Ondřejov Observatory on 12 February 1999, was named after the animated boy.
