After Atari's demise, Hasbro continued the tradition, with 3D remakes of Pong, Centipede, and Asteroids.

In 2003, Sega launched the Sega Ages line for PlayStation 2, initially conceived as a series of modernized remakes of classic games, though the series later diversified to include emulated compilations.


Cloud Master

In 2008, Starfish SD, a company founded by former Hot-B employees, bought the rights from Taito and developed a remake released on Nintendo Wii under the title The Monkey King: The Journey Begins, dubbed Shin Chuuka Taisen: Michael to Meimei no Bouken in Japan.

Dune II

Dune II also led to direct sequels: Westwood released a semi-remake for Windows in 1998 as Dune 2000, along with a PlayStation port in the same year.

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo

A HD-remake version titled Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, is available for purchase on Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade and Sony's PlayStation Network.
