Vidwan RaghavaChari and Vidwan SeshaChari belong to a family of traditional classical musicians.
He was the asthaan vidwan (court musician) of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, member of the university grants committee - to advise on music and member of the expert committee at Madras Music Academy.
He also learnt from other vidwans formally, including S. Rajam and professor T. R. Subramanian of Delhi University.
Nagaraj and Manjunath trained under their father Vidwan Sri.Mahadevappa, a violinist, who belongs to the tradition Sri Tyagaraja, composer of Carnatic classical music.
