Like the much larger annual Village Halloween Parade, the Mermaid Parade embodies the spirit and artistry of Mardi Gras.
Since then, she has appeared in various independent and horror features and co-hosted New York City's 2005 Village Halloween Parade with fellow scream queen Debbie Rochon.
Fleming took responsibility for continuing the Village Halloween Parade in 1985 after its founding artistic director, Ralph Lee, decided to no longer run the event.
