This was Viswanathan's debut film as a director and the debut music directorial venture of renown pianist and arranger, Stephen Devassy.
On June 20, 2011, both of Viswanathan's parents were killed when their Cirrus SR22 airplane crashed and burned outside Columbus, Ohio.

While attending Bergen County Academies, Viswanathan showed her writing – including a several-hundred page novel on Irish history she had already completed – to Katherine Cohen of IvyWise, a private college admissions consultancy which Viswanathan's parents had hired to help with their daughter's application process.
Viswanathan's novel, projected to be a bestseller by its publisher, described an academically oriented Indian American girl's efforts to become more "well-rounded" in hopes of boosting her chances of admission to Harvard.
K.Viswanathan's prestigious NGO institution Mitraniketan is one of the organizations that work in close association with DANIDA (Danish International Development Agency) and is located in Vellanad.
