Initial experiments, most notably by Gueymard and Robin at Vizille in 1827, attempted to gradually substitute anthracite for other fuels, such as coke or charcoal, but all failed due to the use of cold blast techniques, which generated insufficient heat to keep the anthracite in combustion.
The Musée de la Révolution française de Vizille is a departmental museum on the French Revolution, located in the French town of Vizille, 15 kilometres to the south of Grenoble, on the route Napoléon.

It was set up in 1984 in the Château de Vizille, former home of the dukes of Lesdiguières (17th century), the Perier family (1782–1895) and the presidents of France (1924–1972) - it also hosted the gathering of three estates of the Dauphiné on 21 July 1788, known as the Assembly of Vizille.
The Benedictines and Augustinians founded at an early date numerous priories in the diocese, that of Vizille dating from 994, but during St. Hugh's episcopal administration, monastic life attained a fuller development.
