In Europe he sang in many opera houses, including Vlaamse Opera and La Scala in Milan.
As an opera singer he has been particularly active at the Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp where he specializes in character roles.
From 1889 to 1890, she was a principal artist at the Vlaamse Opera, after which she retired from the stage.

In March–April 2009, he played Ferrando in Così fan tutte at Vlaamse Opera in Belgium; and a Dramma Giocoso in two acts by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756–1791) based on a libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte.
