A little "island hopping" to Vlieland and Schiermonnikoog is easily possible.
The second Partridge was a 10 gun Cherokee-class brig-sloop launched at Plymouth Dockyard on 22 March 1822 and stranded aground off the Dutch island of Vlieland on 28 November 1824.
In 1939 December the ship served as floating battery ship Batterijschip Vliereede off Vlieland for several weeks.
However, since the formation of the Zuiderzee and obstruction from the Afsluitdijk, the IJssel no longer flows into its estuary, the Vlie, now restricted in meaning and referring only to the strait separating the islands of Vlieland (itself named after the Vlie strait) and Terschelling.
The seven remaining privateers eventually encountered one of these Dutch fleets sent out against them, near the island of Vlieland, commanded by Captain Arie Corneliszoon Cruyck.
