Ackerstraße

The new residents were mostly from Vogtland; as a result the new area of settlement came to be called Neuvoigtland (New Vogtland).

Henry VI, Burgrave of Plauen

In May 1559 the brothers had to pledge the Lordships of Plauen and Oelsnitz and the district of Schöneck to Elector August of Saxony.

When they had to repay the loan, they found that the money wasn't there (Henry VI was accused of having spent it) and as a result, the heartland of Plauen, the Lordships of Plauen and Oelsnitz and the district Schöneck were forever lost to Saxony.

Herlasgrün–Oelsnitz railway

In the mid-1990s, the remaining section of the line, which connected Reichenbach and Zwickau to Adorf and Klingenthal, was selected by the state of Saxony as a pilot project for the revitalisation of endangered branch lines.
