After successful experiments with Voice over Ethernet from 1981 to 1984, Dr. W. David Sincoskie joined Bellcore and began addressing the problem of scaling up Ethernet networks.
From 1996 to 2008, he was senior vice president of Telcordia Technologies's Networking Systems Laboratory where, among other achievements, he pioneered the creation of Internet telephony.
