3 unusual facts about WRGB

WRGB

This was no longer necessary starting with Jerry Lewis' retirement as telethon host and MDA chairman in 2011, as the telethon was significantly shortened to six hours that year.

Its newscasts were anchored for over 40 years by the venerable Ernie Tetrault (who was immortalized in the 1992 film Sneakers directed by one-time WRGB intern Phil Alden Robinson).

It traces its roots to an experimental station founded on January 13, 1928 from the General Electric facility under the call letters W2XB.
