In 1994, Acosta left WMAL and entered television, joining WTTG-TV as a desk assistant.
Subsequently he was hired by WBAL-TV - the NBC affiliate in Baltimore before moving to WTTG-TV - FOX 5 in Washington, D.C., where he covered news stories at the White House and the United States Congress.
The series was syndicated to some American stations during the height of its popularity, including WTTG in Washington, D.C.
He previously served as the political analyst for WTTG, the Fox affiliate in Washington, D.C..

In 2008 and 2012, WTTG broadcast Steinhorn's campaign courses live on its Web site each week as part of its CampaignU project with American University.
In 1984, he married news anchor Connie Chung, whom he had met while working in the news department at WTTG-TV in Washington.
