3 unusual facts about Walter Tirel

Walter Tirel

:The king's body was placed on a cart and conveyed to the cathedral at Winchester... blood dripped from the body all the way.

The death of William II 'Rufus the Red' is the subject of the Frank Turner song "English Curse" where he supposes that it was caused by a curse imposed on him by trespassing on an Englishman's land.

Another fictionalized account of William's death involving Tirel (spelled Tyrrell) appears in Edward Rutherfurd's novel The Forest.
