For the 1955 football season, Auburn High used the Alabama Polytechnic Institute fight song "War Eagle".
The building's exterior is primarily nondescript concrete, but its entry plaza is recognizable for the large "War Eagle" statue which also faces not only the rest of the university, but also nearby Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Soldiers from the 1st Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division including 1st battalion 12th Cavalry Regiment and 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment were stationed at Camp War Eagle and fought against the shia Militia of Muqtada al Sadr known as the Mahdi Army during the uprising which began April 4, 2004.
War Eagle Baseball has sent a few players to the college level, most notably Alex McRee, who plays for the University of Georgia.
In September 2006, Dye partnered with publisher Mascot Books to release his first children's book, War Eagle!.
