Louis George, Margrave of Baden-Baden

Louis George, from 1707 till 1731 was the Royal Colonel of the 4th Circle Infantry Regiment (mixt.) of the Swabian Circle but during the War of the Polish Succession, he hunted dear to his possessions in Bohemia.


James Fitz-James Stuart, 2nd Duke of Berwick

He inherited titles in the Jacobite and Spanish nobility on the death of his father in battle in 1734 at Philippsburg, (near Karlsruhe, presently located in the German "Bundesland" of Baden-Württemberg), during the War of the Polish Succession.

William Stanhope, 1st Earl of Harrington

Later in the same year he was appointed Secretary of State for the Northern Department under Sir Robert Walpole, replacing Lord Townshend, but, like George II, he was anxious to assist the emperor Charles VI in his war with France, while Walpole favoured a policy of peace.
