In 1942 she was elected to the Wellington City Council, where she served from 1941 to 1953, as chairman of the Libraries and Parks and Reserves Committees.
Returning to New Zealand, while her children were young she was employed with the Wellington City Council as an analyst and a soil microbiologist for the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research soil bureau.
The Wellington City Council commissioned Bragge to take various photographs of Wellington, for show at the Melbourne International Exhibition in 1880.
