St Augustine of Canterbury RC High Specialist Humanities School was a Roman Catholic high school for 11-16 year olds, located in Werneth within the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham, Greater Manchester, England under the Roman Catholic Diocese of Salford.

Werneth, Greater Manchester

Lying within the historic county boundaries of Lancashire since the early 12th century, Werneth was recorded in 1212 as being one of five parts of the thegnage estate of Kaskenmoor, which was held on behalf of King John by Roger de Montbegon and William de Nevill.


Geoff Pullar

He was a product of Werneth Cricket Club, which was close to where he went to school in Oldham, and while there he showed equal talent as a leg break bowler as well as with his batting - but with Tommy Greenhough, Bob Barber and Sonny Ramadhin variously based at Old Trafford, Pullar's bowling was rarely called upon in first-class cricket.
