This historic estuary and peninsula is now home to birds including Brent Geese, Wigeon, Teal and many other wintering wildfowl.
Birds that have natural habitat to watch for in the park are Shovelers, Gadwall, Wigeon, Ring-necks, Bufflehead, Redhead, Scaup, Ruddy's, Pintail, Pied-billed grebes, Snow Geese, Canada Goose, and herons.
Notable amongst migratory birds are Cranes, Flamingos, Pintails, Wigeon, Shoveller, Brahmany Duck, Pochards, Teals, God Wit, Shauces, Glossy Ibis, etc.
