A fourteen year-old student, Jamey Rodemeyer, from Williamsville North High School in New York state, United States, committed suicide on September 18, 2011 after repeated incidents of bullying in real life and on Formspring.
McFayden attended Williamsville North High School before going on to play four years of college soccer at Medaille College, where he amassed 42 career goals and was named an NSCAA All-American and Regional All-American, an ECAC First-Team All-Star, was a three-time AMCC First-Team All-Conference selection, and was an NSCAA Regional All-American.
