Sir James Foulis, 7th Baronet

Sir James Foulis, 7th Baronet (1770-1842), of Woodhall, was the seventh Baronet of Colinton.


Kirkstead

Kirkstead Wharfs was absorbed by the encroaching civil parish of Woodhall Spa in 1894, and the rest was incorporated into it in 1987, so that Kirkstead is now the western part of Woodhall Spa between the village centre and the River Witham.

Leeds Country Way

Section 2: Passing playing fields and old quarries, the path crosses the Woodhall Hills and follows Fagley Beck to cross the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and the River Aire at Apperley Bridge, then follows the river past Woodhouse Grove School before climbing up to meet the A65 south of Rawdon.

Philip McGough

McGough was cast as secret service detective Edwin Woodhall in the Alan Bleasdale-written drama The Monocled Mutineer and appeared in Brookside as Charlie Dawson who at first appeared to be a friend of Heather Haversham's then husband but turned out to be a drug dealer.

Richie Woodhall

Woodhall grew up in Woodside, Telford but also lived in Malinslee and attended the local Abraham Darby School.

In 1970, the Jesuit novitiate left Woodhall House and the novices were transferred to Loyola Hall outside Liverpool.
