In 2005, after Mick Mixon became the play-by-play man for the Carolina Panthers, Angell succeeded him as longtime announcer Woody Durham's partner, and was on hand for two Final Fours and the Tar Heels' most recent national championship, in 2009.
He was formerly a color analyst for the UNC Tar Heel Sports Network, where he was teamed with "The Voice of the Tar Heels", Woody Durham beginning in 1989.
Durham's father, Woody Durham, was the legendary and long-time "Voice of the Tar Heels" for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for forty years.
