World Victory Road (WVR) is a defunct Japanese Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) organization which promoted the Sengoku Raiden Championship in Japan.

Izumi made his mixed martial arts debut against New Zealand kickboxing specialist, Antz Nansen for Japan's Sengoku promotion in September 2009 after Izumi signed with World Victory Road.
He is the voice of K-1, Dream, Sengoku, The Contender Asia and all of AXS TV's Fights (formerly HDNet), having signed with the North American broadcaster in July 2009 after capturing the attention of the network's billionaire owner, Mark Cuban.
Over the next five years, he fought in several organizations in Japan including Cage Force, Demolition, K-1 Hero's, Pancrase and Sengoku, where he faced Joe Doerksen at Sengoku 10.
