She is a former World Youth Chess Champion in all girls categories: Under 10 years in Timişoara, Romania 1988, Under 12 years in Fond du Lac, United States 1990, Under 14 years in Warsaw, Poland 1991, and Under 18 years in Guarapuava Brazil 1995.
She has won three World Youth Chess Championship titles: in 2004, she won the Girls Under-14 in Heraklion, Greece, and in 2006, she won the Girls Under 18 in Batumi, Georgia.
Also in 1977, at Cagnes-sur-Mer, he won the World Under-16 championship (ahead of other distinguished young talents, including Garry Kasparov), before becoming Icelandic champion on the first of three occasions (1977, 1982 and 1988).
Pert was the World Under-18 Chess Champion in 1998 and British Rapidplay Chess Champion in 2004.
