It broke off the main line north of Bewdley and crossed the River Severn at Dowles Bridge, the piers of which still remain.

Wyre Forest has none the of the legal peculiarities of a historic forest at all, instead has those of a chase (of common land) with hunting rights belonging to the Mortimer family, who had the title Earl of March from 1328, as holders for centuries of the manor and liberty of Cleobury Mortimer, which technically still enjoys such hunting rights.

Coombs was MP for Wyre Forest from 1987 until 1997 when he lost the seat to Labour's David Lock.
There were two other minority parties elected in 2005, Dr Richard Taylor (Health Concern - Wyre Forest) and George Galloway (RESPECT - Bethnal Green and Bow).
He is now a sports teacher for Winterfold House School, Chaddesley Corbett, Wyre Forest, West Midlands and is Head of Boys' Sport at Winterfold, teaching the 1st XV Rugby, 2nd XI Football, and 1st Cricket.
