The municipal unit covers the northwestern part of the Xerovouni mountains.
Anogeio village (population 118, elevation 1200 m) is located on the western slopes of Xerovouni, in the Pindus mountains of Epirus.
Fortosi is situated in the northern foothills of the mountain Xerovouni, west of the Arachthos valley, at about 800 m elevation.
Platanoussa is situated on the eastern slope of the Xerovouni mountain, above the right bank of the river Arachthos, at about 500 m above sea level.
