Yasukichi Murakami

In 1936, with Gregory's assistance, he and his family moved to Darwin.

The area at the time was impoverished so his parents sent him with a relative in 1897 to Western Australia where they believed he would make his fortune in gold.

With the onset of World War II and as a Japanese born Australian resident he was interned at the Tatura internment camp in Victoria.
