Rakuto Kasei is a multinational chemicals company, with their headquarters in Otsu City, Japan and offices in Yokneam, Israel.
The band was formed by Micha Shitrit, who was born in Yokneam, Israel to a Jewish Moroccan family, and Arkadi Duchin, who emigrated with his family from the former Soviet Union and returned to Yokneam to look for employment after serving in the Israeli army.

The 2012 Education Prize of the Israeli Ministry of Education and Culture was awarded to the municipalities of Ariel, Ashdod, Yokneam, Ma'aleh Adumim, Safed and Kiryat Bialik.
