Called the East Riding of York, it consisted of the Townships of Markham, Scarborough, the Village of Yorkville and the portion of the Township of York lying east of Yonge Street.

Before 1960, this species was found throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts (including Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket), Rhode Island, southern Vermont, southern New Hampshire, southern Maine, and all of New York east of the Hudson river north of New York City.
In the summer of 1975, Sayvette closed its three Metropolitan Toronto stores (North York, East York and Scarborough), and its stores in Barrie (Bayfield Mall became Towers) and Malton (Westwood Mall).
