In the 1957-58 season they reaching the quarter-final in the Yugoslav Cup, where they lost to HNK Hajduk Split.
In his country, he played for FK Jagodina and Red Star Belgrade: with the latter he won two leagues and one cup, scoring a career-best eight goals in 22 games in his first season en route to the national championship, but being rarely used in his last two years combined (only 14 league appearances).
He is regarded as one of the best players of FK Borac Banja Luka, where he spent most of his career and where he won the 1987–88 Yugoslav Cup.
He helped his first club win one league title in 1979 and one cup title in 1984, also being named Yugoslav Footballer of the Year in 1981 by the Večernji list daily.
