Zillah or Zilla, a country subdivision (translated as "district") in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan, see also Zila Parishad (disambiguation).
The town was named for Miss Zillah Oakes, daughter of Thomas Fletcher Oakes, who as president of the Northern Pacific Railway had backed the building of the canal.
In the version performed by the New York Shakespeare Festival, Zillah has moved to Berlin.
