Ataman had a successful season with Beşiktaş which the team achieved Uleb Cup Quarter Finals held in Turin, Italy; after a stunning undefeated 10 in-a-row win performance in group B.
Ioan al IV-lea Potcoavă (or Ivan Pidkova – Іван Підкова in Ukrainian; also known as Ioan Sarpega, Ioan Creţul, and allegedly baptized as Nicoară Potcoavă; died June 16, 1578) was a prominent Cossack ataman, and Voivode (Prince) of Moldavia (November – December 1577).
Ataman entered the art world first in 1997 when he took part in the 5th International Istanbul Biennial where he presented "kutluğ ataman's semiha b. unplugged" a long-form documentary of the opera diva Semiha Berksoy.
On the following day, his soldiers were disarmed by Mongolian militiamen, as well as Russian Cossacks of the consular convoy under command of Grigory Semyonov, future Ataman.
Matvey Platov, Vasily Orlov-Denisov, Yakov Baklanov and other atamans of the Don Cossack Host are buried in the church.
On January 17, 2008, Victor Vodolatsky, Ataman of Don Cossacks and a deputy of the United Russia party in the Russian Duma signed a controversial decree regarding creation of a workgroup for rehabilitation of Pyotr Krasnov.
