The reason for the common use of the three-letter acronym, בס"ד (BS"D), is probably because it does not contain the Hebrew letter Hei ('ה), that is used to imply the name of God, and for this reason, a page which contains the letters בס"ד (BS"D) without any other Torah content does not require Genizah (a process for writings that contain the name of God), and thus can be thrown away without a fear of desecration.
In January 2010, Darvishan was the theatre of Taliban fanned violent anti-American demonstrations, following rumors of a desecration of the Qur'an in a U.S.-led military operation and maltreatment of women in the village of Barcha, about 6 miles south of Darvishan, during a raid to detain insurgents.
"The bulldozing of historic cemeteries is the ultimate act of territorial aggrandizement: the erasure of prior residents," said Professor Harvey Weiss of Yale University, adding that "Desecration of Jerusalem's Mamilla cemetery is a continuing cultural and historical tragedy."
Much of the desecration of Laysan and species extinction (such as the extinction of the Laysan Rail and Laysan Millerbird) at the turn of the 20th century was a result of his disastrous ecological mismanagement.
He now serves as Chairman of the Citizens Flag Alliance, an organization dedicated to protecting the American flag from desecration.
In December 2010, the band went on another short European tour, playing mainly UK dates supporting The Rotted and Desecration, and the Bang Your Head Festival in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg.
