CDMA cloning involves gaining access to the devices Embedded File System /nvm/num directory via specialized software or placing a modified EEPROM into the target mobile telephone, allowing the electronic serial number (ESN) & or Mobile Equipment Identifier (MEID) of the mobile phone to be changed.
However, there are many items that are excluded from this list, as they are either covered in other documentation, not subject to IUID (Item Unique Identification) marking, or they already carry an IUID Equivalent marking; such as the Vehicle Identification Number on a car or an Electronic Serial Number of a cell phone.
