Wilbur was the first dean 1904-1910; then president 1911-1931; and until 1934, professor of homiletics and practical theology at the Pacific Unitarian School for Ministry, Berkeley, California of the American Unitarian Association (AUA).
In 1800 he was transferred along with the university to Landshut where he taught pastoral and moral theology, pedagogics, homiletics, liturgy and catechetics.
At UAlbany since 1975 and an editor of the Emerson Papers at Harvard's Houghton Library since 1977, Bosco has lectured and published extensively on Puritan homiletics and poetics, nineteenth-century American intellectual and literary history, and the theory and practice of documentary and textual editing.
