Caltagirone Editore S.p.A. is an Fourth Italian Publishing House, based in Rome, Italy, founded in July 1999 (after the purchase of the newspaper Il Messaggero and Il Mattino) and listed on the Italian Stock Exchange since December 2000.
In 1996 he acquired the Roman newspaper Il Messaggero from the Montedison Group, and the following year two local newspapers from private investors: Il Mattino based in Naples and Il Corriere Adriatico based in Ancona.

He has collaborated with several publications such as Panorama, Economy, Il Mattino, L'Indipendente, Il Messaggero, Corriere Adriatico…, in television with RAI, and since 2009 with the website Non Sprecare.
Antonio Scarfoglio was the son of Edoardo Scarfoglio and Matilde Serao, both well-known Neapolitan writers of the turn of the 20th century and founders of il Mattino, the large Neapolitan daily newspaper.
After working also for the newspaper Rinascita, Il Messaggero and Il Mattino (Beha later worked also for the right-winged L'Indipendente), in 1987 he began the host of TV show Va' pensiero, together with Communist journalist Andrea Barbato.
