The moth genus invalidly named thus by Traugott-Olsen in 1995 is now considered a junior synonym of Perittia.

Aurinia

The IUCN Red List lists Astatotilapia stappersii as its junior synonym, but this is a lapsus; apart from both being East African Acanthopterygii, the nothobranch ist neither similar nor closely related to the cichlid A. stappersii, which the IUCN in fact features in a separate entry under its old name Haplochromis stappersii.

:In plants, Suttonia is a junior synonym of the colicwood genus, Myrsine.

Tianzhenosaurus

Some authors have suggested that Tianzhenosaurus is actually a junior synonym of Saichania chulsanensis, but this matter remains unresolved, and Vickaryous et al. (2004) placed it within the Ankylosauridae, nested as the sister group to Pinacosaurus.

Vivaxosaurus

The contemporary species Dicynodon amalitzkii Sushkin, 1926 is closely related (Angielczyk and Kurkin 2003a, 2003b), although according to Lucas 2005, Dicynodon trautscholdi, Dicynodon amalitzkii, Elph borealis, and Vivaxosaurus permirus are all synonyms, which makes D. amalitzkii the junior synonym of D. trautscholdi.

Clerck a T. picarella as early as 1759 (now Nemapogon picarella), and F.P. von Schrank a T. arcuatella in 1802 (probably a junior synonym of the arctiid moth Dysauxes ancilla).

So the actual situation seems to be that the three taxa refer to two, not three species, with R. htunwini being a junior synonym of R. bipunctatus – possibly a restricted-range endemic of upland forest at the eastern end of the Himalayas, though it might occur south to Malaysia –, and R. namdaphaensis a junior synonym of R. rhodopus, a species that ranges widely from eastern India to the east and south and also occurs in lower-lying regions.

The species is possibly a junior synonym of Scopula minorata, based on genital examination of type material at The Natural History Museum, London, and Universitets Zoologiska Institut, Uppsala, Sweden.
