Beynac castle has served as a location for several films, including Les Visiteurs by Jean-Marie Poiré, in 1993, La Fille de d'Artagnan by Bertrand Tavernier, in 1994, Ever After by Andy Tennant, in 1998, and Jeanne d'Arc by Luc Besson, in 1999.
The castle has often been used as a location for filming including les Visiteurs, Highlander: The Series, The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc and the 1998 version of The Man in the Iron Mask.
Born Marie Louis Jules Paufichet in Poitiers, Vienne, he starred in the French films Les Visiteurs du Soir and Arsene Lupin, Detective.
