Albert Hoffa (31 March 1859 - 31 December 1907) was a German surgeon, orthopedist and physiotherapist born in Richmond, Cape of Good Hope.
It was discovered by British-American orthopedist, John Insall, and Polish-American orthopedist, Michael Slupecki.
Their son Michael Hoke became a famous orthopedist in Atlanta, Georgia and a founder of the Shriner's Children Hospital.
