Falconer Madan

In 1889 Madan became a Fellow again and lecturer in Palaeography until 1913.


Annaclara Cataldi Palau

Annaclara Cataldi was born in Genoa and studied Classics in the University of Genoa, then she lived several years in Paris and studied Greek palaeography at the Sorbonne.

Arthur Coke Burnell

In 1874, Burnell published a Handbook of South Indian Palaeography, characterized by Max Müller as indispensable to every student of Indian literature, and in 1880 issued for the Madras government his greatest work, the Classified Index to the Sanskrit Manuscripts in the Palace at Tanjore.

David Dumville

He has previously taught or held posts at Swansea University (Fellow, 1975-77), the University of Pennsylvania (assistant professor of English, 1977-78), the University of Cambridge, (lecturer in Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic, 1977-91; reader in early Mediaeval history and culture of British Isles, 1991-95; professor of palaeography and cultural history, 1995-2005), and University of California, Berkeley (1997).

Marc Drogin

Drogin became interested in the scripts of the Middle Ages in the 1970s, researched palaeography independently at the Bodleian Library in Oxford, England, and wrote Medieval Calligraphy: Its History and Technique, which was published in 1980 by Allanheld, Osmun & Co.
