Notable gold medalists included Gary "Smiler" Turner who would go on to win several regional tournaments in K-1, Roman Bugaj who would later turn to pro boxing (and also won silver at the same event in Light-Contact) and Natascha Ragosina who would become a legend in women's boxing.
He made his pro boxing debut on February 18, 1892 in Los Angeles against French Canadian George LaBlanche from Quebec, knocking him out in the third round.
There were a few notable winners in the men's events with Mike Anderson winning gold and American team mate and future pro-boxing world champion Troy Dorsey picking up silver (both had won gold in the Full-Contact category at the same games).
